Montgomery is a small town located about 95 miles southwest of downtown Indianapolis, and about 26 miles east of Vincennes. The population of Montgomery in 2010 was 343 people.
Bill Endicott, an early participant in the Indianapolis 500 races, was born in Montgomery. There is a large Amish population in this area of Indiana.

The Glendale Fish & Wildlife Area offers many opportunities for those who enjoy camping, fishing and other outdoor activities. The area encompasses 22 ponds as well as a 1,400 acre lake named Dogwood Lake. These bodies of water offer some of the best fishing in the State of Indiana.
Camping is offered on a first-come, first-served basis so reservations are not required. Additional information on the campground and site availability can be obtained by calling the campground office at (812) 644-6107.
