Evansville is located about 150 miles southwest of downtown Indianapolis, and about 15 miles east of Mt. Vernon. The population of Evansville in 2010 was 117,429 people.

Evansville is described as the “cultural hub” for southwestern Indiana. It boasts of 2 universities: the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville.

This city has 13 neighborhood districts included on the National Register of Historic Places. So many of the structures and buildings are too magnificent for proper descriptions.

Some notable people with ties to Evansville include the late Robert D.
